An Ode to Nature

A Place out of time, where famous poets and painters, like Cocteau and Dufy were inspired by the breathtaking color palette.

At Château L’Esparrou, springtime blossoms between vines, sand beaches and snowcapped peaks. The color of the grapes follows the color of the seasons.

Here wines are known to be rich in shades and aromas. Château L’Esparrou was formerly the home of the grandees of Spain, a timeless place in the midst of a flamboyant vegetation, offering a gentle, modest and refined Catalan lifestyle.

Like No Other

Sixty hectares of vineyard, between salt lakes and sand beaches, surrounded by a Natura-2000-site.

Here vine has been cultivated for 800 years, relying on natural elements such as sun and wind. The tramontane wind plays a particular part here, drying and cleaning the leaves and the fruit, protecting them naturally and making it possible for integrated viticulture. The vines are planted on rolled pebble soils; the resulting solar heat absorption plays a vital role in grapes maturation and creates powerful wines.

The Wine Cellar

Château L’Esparrou is located at a one kilometer distance from the beach, overlooking the Canet’s saltwater lake southward, and the Mediterranean Sea eastward. The Pyrenees mountain chain which stretches away, offers a truly incomparable scenery. Stopping at Château L’Esparrou wine cellar provides the opportunity to take a ballade in the vineyard in the middle of a classified natural site, discover the winemakers’ know-how and taste their wines.

Bonne découverte et dégustation
